How do u adjust the gain setting to 20mA for a tramsmitter?

Question:

Answer: Hi legolas. You will have to be a little more explicit. I explained how to do this in your previous question. Nevertheless, I will repeat it now. If you need to add details, do so, or repost your question. You can also email me direct. Locate the gain adjustment on the transmitter. A transmitter should have at least two adjustments, zero (or offset) and gain (or range). Remember that you set 4mA with the zero adjustment and 20 mA with the gain adjustment. IOW, you change the slope of the curve with the gain adjustment, and move the curve up and down with the zero/offset adjustment. 1) Provide a full scale signal to the PV port, (e.g. 10 psi, if it is a 0 to 20 psi pressure transmitter. I am just making something up). 2) Adjust the gain until you obtain 20 mA output. 3) Bring back the low pressure, eg, 0 psi for 4 mA value 4) Repeat (1), (2) and (3) until it wont need further adjustment. Let me know how it goes. .
