Question: Would like to know what is the best brand/type/x lens microscope to look at the detailed structure of a strand of hair please. Also, is there a way to then take a photo of what can be seen? Thank you.
Answer: A good optical microscope will do the job, I would personally examine the hair at several magnifications, say 10x, 20x, 50x and 100x - this should give a fairly comprehensive view of the structure. Carl Zeiss lenses are considered to be one of the best and some microscopes allow for a camera (still or video) to be attached directly to them.
