Does end of school zone sign mean you can go ahead and spped up after you pass the sign?

Question: The reason I ask my friend received a speeding ticket because when he passed the end of school zone sign he went to the regular speed limit but the police officer told him that he the end of school zone does not end until he gets to the next speed limit sign.

Answer: i think there needs clarification on this...i would agree that the speed zone restriction ends at the end sign; the same as at a construction zone sign limiting you to 25 mph or whatever. the next sign usually says something like ''thank you,resume 35 mph'' or whatever the limit is.
