I have a sprinkler system with 8 zones and intend to retire one of the zones. Can I simply clog it?

Question: Or, can I just change the programming of the splrinkler monitor so that it pass the zone? Is this a kind of work needing a care of professional? Thank you.

Answer: you could just turn down the minutes for that zone to zero you could also unhook the wire for that zone so that it never will accidentally come on. you could do all the above and find the valve and cut it out and put a cap on the line in its place to eliminate anything ever leaking for that zone. you could do this yourself without calling a professional pretty easily if you know where the valve is. you dont have to cap it, its just one less thing to have to worry about. hope this helps
